Last week we gathered at 200 Becontree Avenue to tell the story behind one of our most iconic projects – a scheme that looks both backwards and forwards in equal measure. Designed by Archio for BeFirst, on behalf of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, 200 Becontree Avenue stemmed from deep research and community engagement in the historic Becontree Estate – the largest council estate in the world. This project delivers a gentle density of 19 new affordable homes, expressed through a contemporary reinterpretation of Becontree’s Neo‑Georgian character

The event was a joyful moment of reflection and conversation. Residents, designers, and community figures came together to explore the ideas behind the project. With special thanks to Eimear Egan and Kyle Buchanan for leading inspiring tours.
