Mellis was asked to speak at the Urban Design Group's ideaSPACE event on the potential of co-design in combatting the many issues we face in our cities today. She discussed Archio's London CLT project which engaged local residents in the key design decisions for Bransted Close to ensure it was supported by the community and achieved affordability goals. The design of the communal spaces were developed collaboratively to create usable amenities for residents that serve a purpose to the local community.

The event concluded with a discussion between pannelists on how co-design can create good quality homes and communities and improve the health and happiness of city dwellers.
